Arriving to the serenity of the private stone courtyard with pool, tropical gardens, and fountains after the long and winding bus ride from San Pedro Sula was very nearly a spiritual experience. On numerous occasions, I've visited my friend Bill in Copán. It's always a joy and always an adventure. Learning the local customs and a bit of the language intrigues me. Political leanings and agendas aside, when you meet and live around the people, you truly learn about the country. I first went down for the orchids, since that's one of my passions. They just grow in huge clumps up in the trees in the jungle. You won't believe the beauty of this place!
