Copán Ruins is a small tourist town at 2100 ft. elevation.  Not in the humid "banana belt".  The Indians live on $200/month.  For visitors, $1500/month (USD) is more realistic, depending on your ability and desires.

Security Copán is a small town, where the local authorities keep the tourists and retirees safe.  You are welcomed and safe for the duration of our stay.
Transportation Local motorized rickshaws provide taxi service around town.  Bus service also available.
Medical An English-speaking doctor is on call in the town of Copán.  Pharmacies can fill most any prescription at astonishingly low prices.

Visas All visitors are required to have valid passports, a 90-day visa will be issued on arrival, renewable by the immigration official located in the town of Copan.
Language There has been a flood of three-dayers, people from around the world to converse with.  An amazing amount of basic English is understood in Honduras, we also have English-speaking Hondurans on the management team.
